Welcome to Chimera Musica, a continuum of obscurity and ephemera from the vaults of the heroic and the doomed. The rules are simple – for inclusion, the artist or album, film or book must be the work of a genuine maverick talent. Obscurity helps but thankfully, is not mandatory.

Comments – please leave comments, requests, long existential ramblings – it doubles the fun and your opinions, no matter how mad, are welcomed on this blog – random and inarticulate abuse, flamewars etc will not be tolerated.

    Hi,

I love the new layout, and your music. I’m sorry, but I can’t think of any random and inarticulate abuse for you at this moment, but I’ll try my best. :-P Hey, so I work at a record label in Seattle (Sarathan Records), and was wondering if you could check out one of our hot bands right now, Feral Children. (They’re indie-rock) You can find them at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Feral-Children/8606549581?ref=ts and snag their free EP at http://sarathan.com/free/feralchildren_ep/. I hope you like them!

    You Rock! I’m a new fan. :-)

    Hey Chris,

Great Annie Lennox video, her voice is still amazing. Also really liked the Joan Armatrading video on Chimera Obscura from back in October. Two amazing voices.

My own band, The Morning Code, self-released our debut album, Superhero Complex, and I wondered if this might be the kind of thing you’d be interested on featuring on Chimera Musica (we’re definitely an obscure band at this point).

Shoot me an email and I can send you all the promo material or just take a look at

    Thanks and great blog!
